Ok, so if you subscribe to my YouTube channel, my trip to San Francisco with Richard to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary is old news. But, what you probably missed was a breakdown of all the things we did and how we truly celebrated everything while up in San Francisco. Here are my top recommendations for a quick weekend getaway to one of our favorite cities!
Richard and I fell in LOVE with the Hotel Spero long before we decided to stay there. They legit know how to celebrate being a kind and caring organization. I’m talking major initiatives to give back to their community and… wait for it… Hatcher’s community. Here is a list of some of the things that Hotel Spero, which means Hotel Hope if you translate Spero from its latin roots!
I mean, even though Hatcher wasn’t with us we definitely plan on bringing him back and matching the hotel’s donation next time! OBSESSED!
I’m a like-atarian, and I’m currently liking the idea of eating completely plant based. This means that Richard and I were on the hunt for places that could accommodate my current dietary needs! God bless my sweet husband, that’s all I have to say. We ended up enjoying an amazing brunch at Wholesome Bakery which was gluten free, dairy free, soy free and PAUL FISHMAN approved! Omg, their potato leek soup? Insane.
We also enjoyed dinner at the OG Gracias Madre which actually was the first location of Cafe Gratitude. It’s so much fun to find out little tidbits like this and also nosh on some vegan butternut squash quesadillas at the same time! PS Do not miss the flan. It literally tasted just like the original, not that that is my ideal desire for all vegan food – case and point BYE mock chicken/turkey/bacon/anything.
Oh and how could I forget Little Gem, recommended by not one but two of my friends Ali Bonar and Coco Kislinger… pretty sure they ate there together at one time. The hummus, obsessed, the Squash Alfredo? OUT OF THIS WORLD. Book your flight and make sure to go here. Please and thank you!
The farmer’s market at the fairy building is one of the best we’ve ever been to! Plus, we had this Rosemary Soda that was beyond tasty!
We got a two day pass to this double decker bus from City Sightseeing that let us get on and off at all these different spots in the city. Literally the most touristy thing we could have done, but also really fun and iconic. We rode this around all day on Sunday and it was super convenient and wayyyyy less expensive than ride sharing everywhere.
We also got to check out the Museum of Ice Cream and their holiday exhibit PINKMAS. It was so much fun getting to jump in the sprinkle pool and ride the unicorns!
Even if you’re planning on a few days in San Francisco make sure to research and choose your restaurants before you go! There are so many different options out there and Richard and I definitely got into a fight because we didn’t have a place to eat on Sunday for Brunch #HANGRY.
Commit to checking out a new neighborhood and even consider doing something touristy! I feel like being a tourist is coming back in a very big way!

As always, it is not a cute look to write things that are not my own opinion… and you know I am always cute.
